In purpose to serve Chinese entrepreneurs in North America, to build an international platform for venture team development, and to interconnect project investments and market resources in China and those in the United States, the Chinese Association for Science and Technology, New York Chapter (CAST-GNY) will be holding the fourth Technology Entrepreneurship Competition at the 2018 Annual Conference.
The Technology Entrepreneurship Competition will be held on October 6th, 2018 at NYU, Manhattan, New York. We strongly encourage any candidate who are interested in international entrepreneurship opportunities to apply!

Professional Reference Opportunity in China
CAST will refer the outstanding candidates in this competition to enter top entrepreneurship competitions in China, to networking and other events, and to project collaborations for candidates to have more opportunities present and execute their ideas.

Candidates who enter the final round will be invited to pitch their business proposal at the “US-China Innovation and Investment Summit” on October 6th in Manhattan, New York, and Chinese Association for Science and Technology Annual Conference.
The incoming annual conference will carry on its past traditions, inviting Nobel Prize winners, prominent US scholars in fields of science and engineering, well-known US entrepreneurs, US investment and venture capital firms, US federal and local governors and senators, and etc.. This event will not only serve as a platform for collaboration and investment networking, but also serve as a first-class opportunity for experts in China and US technology industry, for senior investors and entrepreneurs, and for industry pioneers to exchange and communicate.
Opportunity to connect with Investors
CAST’s platform has abundant resources of both China and US investment organizations and Chinese development area. Candidates who had entered the entrepreneurship competition had directly collaborated with these resources and had raised millions of capitals.
Competition Judges:
Past judges include the founder of FreesFund, Li Feng, and the co-founder of Fusion Fund, and several well-known investors as well as Pine Venture Capital, Cybernaut, Lenovo, and other investment organizations. Outstanding projects will obtain a coaching opportunity from professional investment organizations.
Prizes:
Candidates who enter the final round will be ranked as the first, second, and third place, and will be awarded a prize. The prize for the past winner was over 10,000 dollars.
Application Requirements
Focused areas:
Artificial intelligence and Big Data; Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology; Sustainability and Innovative Raw Materials and Energy; IoT and Intelligent Hardware; Mobile Internet; Fintech
Innovative small and midsize business or entrepreneurial and research teams with leading technology or production services.
Team size: An US startup or a company in its initial stage that has an existing prototype and has a revenue of fewer than 500,000 dollars in the past year.
Competition Schedules
The competition has three rounds: the first round, the second round, and the final pitch.
First Round Submission Deadline:
Sunday, September 23rd, 2018
Professional investors, industry experts, and CAST annual conference staff will be the judges for the first round of the competition. 16 submissions will be selected using the following criteria:

Business model and profitability
Team structure
Notice: Submissions will be reviewed in the order that they are received.
Second Round Deadline:
Sunday, September 30th, 2018
On September 30rd, the judging team for the first round will announce the 16 submissions that have been selected to enter the second round of review. 8 submissions will then be selected to enter the final round. The teams that will be pitching at the finals will prepare a business proposal as required, powerpoint presentation, and a one-minute video. All materials must be submitted before September 30th, 2018.

Saturday, October 6th, 2018
The 8 teams will be invited to attend the CAST annual conference on October 6th, 2018 in Manhattan, New York. Each team will have ten minutes to pitch the project and five minutes Q & A session with the judges’ team. The winner of the competition will be announced at the end of the conference.
